Prime Minister is embarking on a visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic from 29 August to 1 September 2026.
At the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Prime Minister will undertake a State Visit to Tashkent on 29-30 August. The India-Uzbekistan Strategic Partnership has advanced significantly in recent years. Discussions will focus on further deepening cooperation in trade and investment, digital connectivity, defence and energy, as well as advancing the shared visions of Viksit Bharat and Yangi Uzbekistan. The Prime Minister will also visit the Shastri Memorial and the Mahatma Gandhi Centre at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, underscoring the close cultural and people-to-people ties between the two countries.

From Tashkent, the Prime Minister will travel to Bishkek at the invitation of President Sadyr Zhaparov of the Kyrgyz Republic to participate in the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit. The summit marks 25 years of the organisation. India has been an active and constructive member of the SCO since 2017. The visit aims to advance India’s vision for the region, centred on Security, Connectivity and Opportunity, and to work with fellow members towards a region free from terrorism, separatism and extremism.
The Prime Minister will also meet President Zhaparov and other SCO leaders and attend the Opening Ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games, which celebrates the rich living heritage of Central Asia.
The visit is expected to strengthen India’s strategic partnerships in Central Asia, deepen civilisational links with the region, and promote shared goals of peace, stability and prosperity.

As I am about to begin my Uzbekistan visit, I am very happy to see the enthusiasm of my young friends from Uzbekistan, beautifully expressed in this video. What makes it even more special is the fact that they did it in Hindi and they did it so well!
